fab ciraolo

I just stumbled upon an awesome blogspot featuring the artworks of one; Fabian Ciraolo. Well, at least I think that's his name because I can't read Spanish and his blog is in Spanish.*

It's got this trippy, collage-y vibe to it (and dare I say that loathsome H** word?) and I love his illustration style. Plus, NEBULAS!**

I think it's really cool, I like how he uses pop culture figures and turns them into pretentious d-bags hipsters. If I had a credit card/ or you know actual money, I would totally buy his artwork. Okay, that's a lie. I wouldn't buy artwork in general BUT if he made an album cover for a band/musician I really like, I would buy that CD even if I knew that CD wasn't such a good CD. Maybe. FINE! I just really like his stuff okay? Jeez.

I like how some of my ideas are already on his blog :(

*Also, I can't even read English properly.
**whipster without the w.
***this obsession needs to end.

aztec-tically pleasing

so this trend is going to be HUGE in South Africa in a year or two. I didn't see it explode yet like it's doing overseas but SA is a *tiny* bit behind on trends. Not because they aren't available here but because people are slowwwww on the uptake. Please forgive me if any of the prints above are NOT Aztec. I did a Google image/pinterest search.

ANYWAY, I LOVE THESE KIND OF PRINTS. Last year my swimwear designs were inspired by Native Americans (Navajo specifically). Also, I come up with the worst trend titles.

the birth of Moon

The title of this post leaves me slightly nauseous. Nevertheless, ladies and gentlemen, I give you...

MY LABEL'S LOGO! TADA!
I'm not 100% committed to this, though. It was created this afternoon because I was about to send off a design for a client when I realised my label name is not on the design sheet. I do like it, I really do, but I have commitment issues :'( So this may or may not stick. I think I'll make a few other logos and see which one sticks to me the most. For now, this will do.

I can draw. kind of.

These are my fashion figure templates that I'll be using this year. I'll probably use it for the rest of my life.* I did it in Illustrator and it literally took me like 10 minutes.** I can't draw to save my life so you can imagine how proud I am of these babies. Yeah, I know, I'm the worst fashion designer ever. WHATEVS. I was partially inspired by Mr T. Burton. That guy, he's a genius.

*a lie.
**why am I lying so much?

Song(s) of the Month: April 2012

I decided to post another song of the month because, well, this is my blog and I can do whatever I want. I've been listening to this so much lately. It's not a song you'll play when other people are around. I just put in my earphones and play on repeat. Great for those melancholic moods.

It's called Untitled by Interpol, a band I first heard on 5fm when Barney Simon was around. I have him to thank for a lot of alt rock bands I listen to. So, Thanks Barney!

Also, maybe check out a really rad cover of Interpol by Azealia Banks.
