Phases of Having a Fringe

A re-post of a tumblr post I did last year. This time with "illustrations".*

 1. How it starts: Boredom - You look in the mirror and you go "eh". You're craving change and excitement with your hair. So you think, "Hey! I'll get bangs!"

2. Transformation - the fringe changes your face and you look and feel AMAZING. You're bouncing off the walls with your happiness. People are complimenting you on how different you look. Smiles all around.

3. Regret - After a while of staring at yourself too much with your new, shiny fringe, you start to think that you look weird. You feel like those compliments about how different you look aren't really compliments at all. ALSO, you actually have curly hair so now you have to make sure that your hair is straightened at all times. All this effort, gosh.

4. Acceptance - You have come to terms with your fringe. Sometimes it's your worst frenemy, like when it refuses to be styled properly. At other times, your BFFF when a really cute guy smiles at you or when other (obviously envious) women compliment your hairstyle. Awesome.

5. Impatience - It's at such an awkward length now, you know... too long so it obscures your vision sometimes, and too short to pin up. WHEN WILL IT GROW OUT ALREADY?!

kbye.
