Tumblr Round Up: Fashion

Ahh, tumblr. NOBODY* can explain why posting things and then getting likes and reposts are so addictive** -cough-instagram-cough-pinterest-cough. I've all but abandoned my tumblr now, but sometimes still browse through it for wardrobe inspirations, as well as research for my ranges amongst other things. I'll share some of my favourites with you (in no particular order).

 I have NO IDEA when the name of this tumblr changed or  if I've just always imagined it was called Fuck yeah! Model Homme. Whatevs. This lovely tumblr of male model goodness introduced me to Francisco Lachowski and I've been in love ever since.

 This is the tumblr of Ha Jin, a South Korean illustrator. I love her style - all clean lines and very graphical, although she has been experimenting with watercolours and collages as well.

Song of the Month: April 2012

So I've heard this song only like a million times on FTV during Paris Fashion Week this year and decided to post it 'coz, well, I really like it. So ya. It's a song by Friendly Fires, remixed by Airplane with lead vocals by indie band Au Rovoir Simone.

Song of the Month: March 2012

I was watching TV the other day and I heard a song by the Generationals playing in an advertisement. I don't remember what that commercial was about but it did make me remember how much I liked this song, SO I decided to make it March's song of the month.

The song is called Ten-Twenty-Ten and I'm ashamed to admit that I first heard it in that MTV show "Awkward"*. STOP JUDGING ME. I really like it, this song makes me tap my toes**. I currently have it playing on repeat in my ears. It makes me happy :) BTW I have one more week of college then 3 weeks of vaykay, YAY! That makes me happy too. If you like chilled indie rock, do yourself a HUGE favour and listen to this duo's latest album Actor-Caster. Thank me later.

*NOTHING about this show is awkward. It's like when the stupid people on facebook update their status about how awkward their mundane lives/dumb actions are. Not awkward you guys.

The Cuteness that is Fifi Lapin

I can't remember when exactly I first stumbled across The Artiste Fifi Lapin, what I do remember is going "AWWWW" when I first saw a Fifi illustration. Fifi is a very fashionable bunny with very wealthy parents, who lost 256 siblings due to an outbreak of myxomatosis*. 


 Fifi started her blog in 2007 and ever since then her art exploded over the fashion scene. In fact, her art has been featured in magazines such as Elle,  British Vogue and Glamour to name a few. She has also had the opportunity to design for Topshop and ASOS**. Her art can also be found on t-shirts, iPhone covers, stylebooks, as jewellery, as giant statues in China, calendars, bags and postcards amongst other things***.
 

 I love how the sketches are cutesy simplified versions of other looks.

Nobody really knows who is behind this persona. When asked if she has ever revealed what she looked like as a human, she responded that she didn't understand the question. Haha, talk about keeping in character, hey?

Cookieman + Lanvin

I love Pharrell Williams and I love Lanvin, so imagine how happy I was to see a sort of collab between the two. Pharrell's latest protege of sorts, 18 year old musician Maxine Ashley, has her track, Cookieman, playing in the background to gorgeous models at an "exotic and festive dinner party".  The new Lanvin S/S 2012 Ad campaign is every bit as weird and lovely as their Fall Winter 2011/2012 ad campaign.
