Old news, whatevs. I still remember when Die Antwoord was "normal", back in the day they were called MaxNormal.tv and their music was still fun but with more of a positive message. Then I was re-intro'd to them by that butterfly song on mK. It's amazing to see how far they've come. I would never have guessed that they would become so popular internationally - I mean even Katy Perry likes them. So it should really come as no surprise that the fashion industry is noticing them - they're creepy/stand out and don't designers just love all things weird, as well as pushing boundaries?
The T by Alexander Wang line consists mostly of minimilist, subdued casuals and everyday basics; which I'm not quite sure suits Die Antwoord's style - they're anything BUT minimal and subdued.
Not only are they part of the print campaign, but they're also in two videos released alongside the campaign; one with their new single Fatty Boom Boom and a Behind The Scenes featurette.
I feel oddly proud that they're gaining so much recognition globally. GO SOUTH AFRICA!
